About the course

Jointly developed by GAIA Asia Pacific and Mother Earth Foundation, Zero Waste Academy: Organics Management as Climate Action Course is a training program designed to equip participants with the knowledge, practical skills, and tools needed for effective organics management. Aligned with the Zero Waste Cities program and the Seventy-30 Campaign, the course positions organics management not only as a waste issue but also as a powerful climate solution. The course offers a blended learning model that incorporates asynchronous online learning for video lectures and readings; synchronous live interactive sessions with experts; and hands-on exercises and assignments conducted in a collaborative environment with peers and co-participants. Selected participants may also have the opportunity to join in-person workshops and site visits to enrich practical learning.

About Zero Waste Academy

The Zero Waste Academy (ZWA) is an open online learning platform designed by the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) Asia Pacific and Mother Earth Foundation (MEF), that aims to provide accessible and relevant courses to participants interested to learn and implement Zero Waste programs and campaigns. Today, the Zero Waste Academy offers a growing range of courses, including those focused on organics management, reuse systems, zero waste islands, the global plastics treaty, anti-incineration advocacy, and several more in development.
